Dr. Peter J. Ruane
Dr. Ruane has been treating infectious diseases for almost 30 years now. He is grateful he had the chance to play a part in the rapid advancement of Hepatitis C treatment and welcomes the new regimens that don't require interferon and ribavirin. He was a lead investigator in the clinical trials that led to the approval of the new cutting edge drugs like Sovaldi, Harvoni and Viekira. He is working with all the different Hepatitis C genotypes (genotype 1,2,3,4,5,6) and treating many patients with complex cases including those co-infected with HIV and Hepatitis C and those with decompensated liver disease.
Dr. Ruane is a regular speaker at national and international meetings on Hepatitis C clinical care and research.
When not treating patients, Dr. Ruane likes to swim and spend time with his dachshunds.
